If you’re a Latina who’s tired of being told to budget harder, play smaller, or wait your turn to build wealth, you’re in the right place.

If you’re a Latina who’s tired of being told to budget harder, play smaller, or wait your turn to build wealth, you’re in the right place.

I’m Jannese Torres, award-winning Latina money expert, author, speaker, and founder of Yo Quiero Dinero.

I help first-gen wealth builders, ambitious mamis, and service-based entrepreneurs learn how to earn more, invest with confidence, and create financial freedom without abandoning who they are.

My work is rooted in one belief: Latinas deserve more than survival mode. We deserve options, ownership, rest, joy, and the kind of wealth that lets us change the future of our families for generations.

OUR VALUES

We don’t shrink dreams to fit broken systems.

I’m not here to tell ambitious women to coupon their way into freedom. Yes, your spending matters, but so does your earning power, your ownership, your investing strategy, and your ability to build a life that gives you choices.

First-gen wealth builders deserve context, not judgment.

Your money plan should not make you feel deprived, ashamed, or trapped. Around here, we build wealth in a way that makes room for joy, rest, family, softness, and the occasional “because I wanted to” purchase.

First-gen wealth builders deserve context, not judgment.

A lot of us were never taught how money really works. We inherited survival strategies, scarcity stories, and financial responsibilities we didn’t choose. My approach is honest and practical, but never shame-based.

Representation is not optional.

Latinas deserve money education that speaks to our lived experiences: family expectations, cultural pressure, underpayment, caregiving, code-switching, and the pressure to be everything to everybody. I teach money in a way that sees the whole woman.

Freedom requires strategy and self-trust.

You don’t need another random money tip. You need a plan, the confidence to act on it, and the support to stop second-guessing every move. My work helps you become the kind of woman who makes powerful financial decisions and backs herself.

I didn’t become a money expert because I had it all figured out from the beginning.

I became one because I know what it feels like to be the “responsible one,” the first-gen daughter trying to make everybody proud, keep the bills paid, build a career, survive burnout, and quietly wonder why earning more still didn’t feel like enough.

Before Yo Quiero Dinero, I spent years as an engineer, climbing the corporate ladder while carrying debt, pressure, and a money story that was never really mine. I had done what I was told would make me successful, but I still felt trapped inside a life that looked good on paper and felt exhausting behind the scenes.

So I started learning how money actually works. Not just how to budget, but how to build assets. How to invest. How to create income outside of a paycheck. How to use entrepreneurship as a wealth-building tool. How to turn financial literacy into actual freedom.

That journey helped me go from multiple six figures in debt to becoming a millionaire, building a multiple-income-stream business, leaving corporate, becoming work optional by 35, and creating the kind of life my younger self didn’t even know she was allowed to want.

What makes my work different is that I don’t teach money like it exists in a vacuum.

I teach it through the lens of culture, family, identity, entrepreneurship, motherhood, and first-gen pressure. I know my audience isn’t just trying to “save more.” She’s trying to break cycles, stop being the emergency fund for everybody else, build something of her own, and create options her family has never had before.

That’s why my approach is part strategy, part mindset, part real-world money moves. I’ll teach you how to increase your income, invest with confidence, build wealth, and make powerful financial decisions without shrinking yourself to fit someone else’s definition of success.
